nice thursday things

There was no traffic at all driving into the city, 11:00 is the perfect time to drive downtown.

At work, one of the writers who I really admire went out of her way to come and say thank you to me. She said that they all really felt that I help to make things clearer for them and they just like having me there. That made me so happy because, I absolutely love it there, but often wonder if I belong or am of any actual value to the project. (I often feel like this boring mom who just snuck into the building)

I love meetings there, Everyone is so bright and creative and funny. It is laidback but highly productive. I am such a dork about it. To everyone there it might just be ugh, a meeting. But I'm like COOL a meeting! I get to be in room with writers and programmers and The creator who is just genius, I love seeing how his mind works. We get to sit around and talk about writing, language, education and literary terms... We get to read really creative passages and discuss them...again... such. a. dork. But I am happy.

I walk out of work and it feels like spring for the first time, it's 70 degrees - just gorgeous. On the way home, before I get on 294, I get this great view of the entire skyline. I love the way the buildings create this surreal landscape, the architecture is so varied and unique. I remind myself that a year ago I couldn't picture myself enjoying driving in the city, or having this job, and I am grateful.

Thas taken a half day off to spend with the girls. I'm really glad, I think it's good for all of them. He took them to see the Shaggy Dog, which he said kinda sucked, but it was still a nice thing for them to do together.

I get home with J and the girls are out playing on the swing set and we hang in the yard a little and enjoy the nice weather.

After dinner we go for a walk. A block and a half a way we visit this house that T's cousin bought to flip. We are contemplating staying there and paying him rent if we do in fact put on the addition which would require us to move out for a few months. It's not nice by any means but it would work for those purposes. I am thinking of starting a new blog which would chronicle the process of adding on to the house, like a pictorial thing.

Then after the kids are in bed...Tea and kolache (thank you laura)
