fun with wiki

I saw this on another blog, and, because I lack any originality lately, I will reproduce it here.

I went to Wikipedia and typed in the day of my birth, September 3 and found a plethora of information about that day in history. Here are the highlights.

3 interesting events:

1929 - Dow Jones Industrial Average reached all time high at the time (381.17), which was shortly followed by the crash of 1929.

1939 - World War II begins when France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia declare war on Germany after the invasion of Poland, starting the Allies.

1976 - Viking program: The Viking 2 spacecraft lands at Utopia Planitia on Mars and takes the first close-up, color photos of the planet's surface.

3 people who share my birthday:

1910 - Kitty Carlisle, American actress and television personality
1913 - Alan Ladd, American actor (d. 1964)
1965 - Charlie Sheen, American actor

3 people who died on my birthday:

1962 - E. E. Cummings, American poet (b. 1894)
1991 - Frank Capra, American film director (b. 1897)
2005 - William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States (b. 1924)

And an odd piece of trivia:

Date of death of Papa, subject of The Temptations hit record Papa Was a Rollin' Stone.

Wow that was really boring, but at least it was a post. I encourage you to wiki your own birthday and share your findings with me.

I share my b-day with the usual suspects: Mr. T, Raymond Burr, Leo Sayer.

I once met someone that share my "exact" birthday, year and all.
