Family members will recognize the gesture I am doing in the above photo. Then they will shudder.
Growing up, our household would have an occasional infestation of (click here at your own risk) earwigs, or as we for some reason called them, "pointer bugs." My mom abhorred them so much, that she wouldn't even like us to mention that we encountered one. Thus the above hand gesture was born to silently communicate to others that we had visitors of the small, shiny, black, pincher wielding variety.
I also can't see one without thinking of (AGAIN click at your own risk)this scene from Star Trek The Wrath of Kahn.
Today, one such little fellow (or gal) interrupted J's block building in the living room. "A BUG! A BUG! GET HIM MOMMY!" Was quickly followed by "DON'T KILL HIM!PUT HIM OUTSIDE!" Several fumbling, yelping attempts (on my part) to get him onto a piece of paper and out the screen door followed. J shouted out after him, "You don't live here, go to your mommy!"
Go to your mommy indeed, little varmint!

I was very afraid that you were going to report an investation of bibical proportions in your house. I was relieved to read that J encountered only one of those evil, hidious "bugs from hell". Creepiest bug.....EVER. Oh, and by the way, thanks for sharing :)
It was so upsetting to me, that I spelled Biblical incorrectly. Just hope we don't need to call in Moses for any plague action.

In the 10 years, count them 10, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, I have NEVER been ashamed of calling you a friend. Today is a sad day for me. My friend Kathy for whom I have entrusted the Catholic upbring of my first born son, heir to my hundreds of dollars, referenced a Star Trek Movie. Help me dry my tear soaked keyboard.
It truly must be upsetting as infestation was spelled incorrectly as well. Yikes!

Jeremy quickly interrupted, "Was is Star Trek 2."
"How did you know that?"
"Whenver I hear of those bugs or see them that is what I think of"
