doogal

What a terrible terrible terrible movie. One would think that with the voice talent of the following people: Chevy Chase, Judi Dench, Jon Stewart, William H. Macy, Ian McKellen, and Kevin Smith; this would be an entertaining movie. No. No. No. No. No. It was inane, boring, vacant, and awful storytelling. The animation was, meh. But it was the story, the characters that were just awful. The characters (with the exception of the snail voiced by William H. Macy) were so incomplete and unlikable that I was wishing ill will upon them. Doogal could be the worst protagonist of any movie I have ever seen, animated or not. They were going for a cute spunky puppy. No. He was so whiny and selfish and irritating, I wanted to shave him and ship him off to that stern English dog training lady. Remember her? And If a movie can make me wish that one of the characters, who was a little girl, would freeze to death in the icy tomb of a carousel, just so that her dog Doogal would suffer--there is something wrong with this movie.
