um, I'm such a nerd...but check me out anyway
So I've been frequenting Ken Jennings' blog for about a month now. (I was a total nerd crazy person about following him when he was on his Jeopardy winning streak). I'm reading his book, Brainiac too. I really like him a lot. He has a really smart, funny, and interesting style of writing. He's my favorite "celebrinerd" as Time magazine dubbed him.
Back to me. So, I also signed up for this trivia email he sends out every Tuesday. It's a contest where he asks seven trivia questions and you send in your answers. He asks that you only send in the answers that you truly know, but to foil the sinister plans of the trivia-cheaters, he makes #7 a really tough-to-Google one. Until last week I always just saw how many I would get- only two or three answers usually- and never a Question 7, without sending in my answers. Then there was a Question 7 that I knew right away, plus three others. I was so psyched that I knew it that I sent my answers in. It turns out it was pretty easy because EVERYONE else knew it too. But I'm not last on the scoreboard so I thought I'd share. Click here, (*this link no longer works because I plummeted to nonexistent in the rankings) and scroll down to rank 191- yeah, keep scrolling, now look down a few names... woohoo! Like I said...I'm not last. Alas, this week- I knew nada. *sigh* I had my trivia moment in the sun.
Here's the Question 7 for all of my loyal readers to take a stab at:
7. Finally, a Question Seven for music fans. What do these albums have in common? Introducing the Beau Brummels, the Beau Brummels. Chopper City in the Ghetto, BG. Diamond Dogs, David Bowie. If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears, the Mamas and the Papas. Party, Iggy Pop. Spellbound, Paula Abdul. This Year's Model, Elvis Costello.
