i left my harp in sam clam's disco

My lack of posts is due to my whirlwind solo trip to San Francisco for Kari and Kevin's anniversary and my birthday. (I just really wanted to type the word whirlwind) It was a really nice time, I love visiting them. I missed my family but it was nice to not have to chase and be "responsible" for a few days.

They had a party at this very cool tapas restaurant Friday night. Then we went up to the bar on the roof where the most amusing part was the fact that it was 60 degrees minimum, we were all wearing jackets and so many people were shivering, jockeying for positions near heat lamps, and complaining about how cold it was. California people are a little wimpy about the weather. It was a very clear night, with a beautiful view. Then we went to The Mint which is a karaoke bar, hoping Kevin would get to sing Ziggy Stardust, but there were way too many people on the list. We had to be happy with singing and dancing along with everyone else to the likes of "99 Red Balloons," "Livin' on a Prayer" and Journey's "Separate Ways" sung by other patrons with various degrees of singing prowess.

Then we stayed up way too late eating frozen pizzas we got on the way home because the tapas we ate just were not cutting it. I took no pictures that night but I can share with you this image of the amazing omelet Kevin made the next morning.

Kari and I walked to Haight Street for Kevin's anniversary present and hippie t-shirts for my kids. As we walked, I saw these amazing purple petals all over the sidewalk. The picture does not do the color justice.

They were from this tree. Isn't it beautiful?

Then we had Chinese food and watched half of season two of Entourage. Here's a picture of the guy I slept with both nights. His name's Taz, and I swear he's more like a puppy than a cat.

Here's Magic, who is all cat, Kari, and me (one year older all of a sudden) after she and Kevin presented me with a Hostess cupcake with candle and sang to me.

Then we had a great breakfast at Magnolias. Aren't they cute?

Then I had to go to the airport. Man that was a fast trip. But it's nice to be home.

Oh, and I must add that another highlight of the trip was definitely flying first class thanks to Tom's FF miles. It was a steady stream of hot towels, roasted almonds, delicious turkey sandwiches, warm chocolate chip cookies, tea, and a chardonnay glass they kept refilling. Thanks Tom!

Now I'm going to do laundry...*sigh.* Back to reality.
